Which WiFi network does CIGSOR need?

CIGSOR requires a 2.4 GHz WiFi network. 5 GHz networks, guest WiFi and captive portal networks are not supported.

For reliable connection, the WiFi signal strength should be at least -75 dBm at the exact location where the CIGSOR sensor is used inside the humidor.

What can I do if CIGSOR does not connect to WiFi?

Check that you are using a 2.4 GHz WiFi network, avoid guest WiFi, restart your router and verify the WiFi signal strength inside your humidor. If thick walls or multiple floors weaken the signal, Powerline WiFi adapters can help extend WiFi coverage.

Requirements

2.4 GHz WiFi only

CIGSOR connects to 2.4 GHz WiFi networks. 5 GHz networks are not supported for sensor setup.

Do not use guest WiFi

Guest networks and captive portal connections are not supported. Please use your regular private WiFi network.

Use alkaline batteries only

Use 2 × LR6 AA alkaline batteries. Rechargeable batteries are not supported.

Check your WiFi signal

For reliable data transmission, check the WiFi signal strength at the exact place where the CIGSOR sensor is used.

The recommended minimum signal strength is -75 dBm inside the humidor.

Thick walls or multiple floors?

Concrete walls, thick floors and long distances can weaken your WiFi signal.

If the signal is too low, consider using Powerline WiFi adapters to extend a stable connection to your humidor location.

Restart and retry

If the connection fails, restart your router. Make sure your phone is connected to the same 2.4 GHz WiFi network and try the setup process again.
